Our Academic Staff Participated in the CIF International Staff Week Program
Dr. Samet Giray Tuncay, Assistant Professor; Dr. Kadir Olcay, Assistant Professor; and Dr. Hasan Yiğit, Lecturer, represented our university at the “CIF International Staff Week” program, held in Ferrol, Spain, from September 29 to October 3, 2025, and hosted by the University of A Coruña.
During the first days of the program, universities from various countries participated, including Thomas More University from Belgium, St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo from Bulgaria, Masaryk University from the Czech Republic, Rīga Stradiņš University from Latvia, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University from Lithuania, Opole University of Technology from Poland, Bucharest University of Economic Studies from Romania, Bandırma 17 Eylül University and Işık University from Turkey, University of National and World Economy from Bulgaria, Palacký University Olomouc from the Czech Republic, the University of Athens from Greece, RTU Liepaja Academy from Latvia, Rzeszow University of Technology from Poland, Instituto Politécnico de Tomar from Portugal, Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti from Romania, and Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University from Ukraine) presented promotional presentations. The presentations provided information on the universities’ academic structures, educational activities, bilateral collaborations under the Erasmus+ program, student and staff mobility, and ongoing projects. In the presentation made on behalf of our university, following an introduction to Kütahya, detailed information was provided on our university’s faculties, departments, vocational schools, research centers, Technopark, campus facilities, international student body, and Erasmus+ projects.
As part of the program, the university’s main campus in A Coruña, the rector’s office, research centers, laboratories, and technology and innovation units were visited. During the visits, information was gathered on the university’s work in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, and technology transfer, as well as its Erasmus+ projects. Additionally, experiences regarding the development processes of national and international projects and those successfully completed were shared.
On the final day of the program, the Maritime Museum in Ferrol—a city of significant historical importance in Spain’s maritime history—was visited, and participants were provided with information about the region’s historical and geostrategic significance.
