Kütahya Dumlupınar University Participated in the 36th EAIE Conference

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak, and Lecturer Dr. Hasan Yiğit from the Foreign Relations and International Student Coordination Application and Research Center (DPÜ ULMER) attended the event, which was held in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, on behalf of our university.

Held this year under the theme “The Rhythm of Revolution,” the event brought together thousands of higher education professionals from different parts of the world. The meetings held as part of the conference provided opportunities to develop new partnerships among universities and expand academic networks on a global scale.

As a result of the contacts established by the Kütahya Dumlupınar University delegation during EAIE 2026, bilateral cooperation agreements were signed with numerous universities from different continents, while bilateral meetings were also held with various universities from the United States, Canada, Italy, Malaysia, Indonesia, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, Palestine (Gaza), Ukraine, and Moldova. Through the agreements signed following these meetings, the aim is to enhance student and staff mobility, increase academic and scientific cooperation, implement joint projects, diversify educational activities, and create new areas of international collaboration among the participating universities. These new connections established with higher education institutions across different geographical regions represent a significant achievement in terms of increasing international education, research, mobility, and project opportunities for Kütahya Dumlupınar University students and academic staff.

In a statement shared on his social media account regarding the event, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak began by saying, “We participated in the EAIE 2026 International Education Fair, held in Glasgow, Scotland, on behalf of Kütahya Dumlupınar University,” and continued as follows:

“At this important international gathering, which brings together universities and higher education stakeholders from different countries around the world, we had the opportunity to showcase our university’s academic expertise, educational and research capacity, internationalization vision, and opportunities for cooperation.

During the fair, in our meetings with university representatives from different countries, we discussed new opportunities for cooperation, particularly in student and academic staff mobility, Erasmus+ partnerships, joint academic programs, scientific projects, and research collaborations.

We also had productive discussions with Mr. İlker Astarcı, President of the Turkish National Agency, and Mr. Hakan Kıvanç, Consul General of Türkiye in Edinburgh, who visited our stand, regarding our university’s internationalization objectives and the development of global cooperation in higher education. We remain committed to our efforts to enhance the visibility of Kütahya Dumlupınar University, its academic expertise, and its strong potential on international platforms, and to open new horizons for our students and academics.

I am very pleased to have represented our university and Kütahya at such an important international platform.”
